Election Voting took place at 13,421 polling stations across the island from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. today.
38 candidates are contesting this year’s Presidential election, the highest number of presidential candidates in the country’s history.
The Election Commissioner General Saman Sri Ratnayake said that the first result of the 2024 Presidential election can be released by midnight today.The postal voting results are expected before midnight tonight.
