Voter turnout 50 percent in most districts
Presidential candidate Ranil Wickremesinghe cast his vote at the College House polling center at Colombo University.
Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa, cast his vote at the Sri Vivekaramaya Viharaya polling station in Rajagiriya.
National People’s Power (NPP) presidential candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake cast his vote at the polling station set up at the Saykoji Montessori in Panchikawatte.
Former Sri Lanka Army Commander, Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka cast his vote at the Sri Sudarshanarama Viharaya in Kelaniya.
Minister of Public Security Tiran Alles said "The Presidential election is calm and I appeal to all citizens and political party leaders to maintain this atmosphere till the end of the election. We have done our utmost to ensure the security of the people during the Presidential election,"
For the security of public and State property, the Armed Forces will be on standby and may be called upon if needed. All security measures related to the election are in place.
