Acceptance of nominations for the Elpitiya PS election ends today

The acceptance of cash deposits for the Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha election which commenced on August 26 ended yesterday 11th at 12 noon.Acceptance of nominations commenced on September 9th and ends today.

A total of 10 recognised political parties and two independent groups have placed cash deposits to contest the Elpitiya PS election.

.Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, National People’s Power Janasetha Peramuna, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), Podujana Eksath Peramuna, Democratic People’s Congress, Sri Lanka Communist Party, United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA), Jathika Janatha Pakshaya, Devana Parapura party and 02 independent groups have placed cash deposits.

55,643 votes have been registered for the Elpitiya PS election and voting will be held in 48 polling stations to elect 28 members for the Local Council. 

The number of candidates to be nominated is 17 for the first nomination paper and 14 for the supplementary nomination paper.
