Cabinet approves public sector salary revisions

The Cabinet of Ministers has endorsed a sweeping overhaul of salary structures across all public service sectors. 

This move follows the completion of a comprehensive report prepared by an expert committee led by former Presidential Secretary Udaya Seneviratne.

The committee, tasked with formulating recommendations for the 2025 budget, engaged with key professional associations representing public officials as well as other stakeholders in the broader public sector. 

After thorough analysis of relevant data, the committee finalized its report, which was subsequently reviewed and accepted by the Cabinet.
