Sri Lankan sprinter Aruna Darshana has secured his place in the 2024 Paris Olympics, representing his country in the Men’s 400m event. Darshana will join fellow athletes Tharushi Karunaratne and Nadeesha Lekamge on the Sri Lankan athletics team for the upcoming Games.

Darshana has recently demonstrated his exceptional speed and talent, finishing second in the 400m at an international athletics tournament in the Bahamas with a personal best time of 45.90 seconds. Additionally, he clinched the gold medal in the 400m at the 2nd Belt and Road Invitational Athletics Championship in China.

Many in the athletics community believe Darshana could follow in the footsteps of former veteran athlete Sugath Thilakaratne. Darshana's impressive record includes winning the men’s 400m event at the 2018 National Athletics Championships with a time of 46.16 seconds.
