A 21-year-old student has been arrested for allegedly recording footage on his mobile phone of the vehicle convoy of Senior Advisor to the President on National Security and Chief of Presidential Staff, Sagala Ratnayaka.
The youth, a resident of Pottuvil, was arrested near 28th Lane Junction on Sir Earnest De Silva Mawatha in Colpetty, and the police have taken custody of his phone.
During interrogation, the youth revealed that he had come to Colombo with a 44-year-old man, also from Pottuvil, to visit the UAE Embassy. He recorded the footage of the convoy because he had never seen a VIP vehicle convoy with police protection before.
The Colpetty Police are conducting investigations into the incident.
