Sixteen fixed deposit accounts and three insurance policies belonging to former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella's family members have been frozen for three months, following an extension granted by the Colombo High Court today. The total value of these assets is estimated at Rs. 93.125 million.

The freezing order was obtained by the Bribery Commission under Section 53(1) of the Anti-Corruption Act No. 09 of 2023. It applies to accounts and policies held by Keheliya Rambukwella's spouse, three daughters, and son-in-law.

This action is part of investigations linked to Section 42, which involves scrutiny into allegations related to the purchase of substandard immunoglobulin injections. Former Minister Rambukwella is currently in remand custody in connection with these allegations.
