The Colombo High Court, acting on an application by the Bribery Commission, has ordered the freezing of 16 fixed deposit accounts and three insurance policies owned by family members of former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella. The total value of these frozen assets is estimated at Rs. 93.125 million.

The frozen accounts and policies belong to Keheliya Rambukwella’s spouse, three daughters, and son-in-law, and will remain frozen for seven days.

Former Health Minister Rambukwella is currently in remand custody over allegations related to the purchase of substandard immunoglobulin injections. The Bribery Commission obtained this freezing order under section 53(1) of the Anti-Corruption Act No. 09 of 2023, as part of their investigation under section 42. The assets of family members, including spouses and others, are also under scrutiny in this investigation.
