The "EV MOTOR SHOW 2024" Srilanka 's first ever electric car exhibition which was organized according to the concept of the Minister of Transport, Highways and Mass Media, Dr. Bandula Gunawardena, commenced on 28th of June under the chairmanship of the Hon. Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike premises of the BMICH Colombo.

A large number of industrialists, entrepreneurs, investors and new designers who are engaged in the assembly, production and sale of electric cars, both local and foreign, have presented their designs in this three-day exhibition.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardena said
"I believe that it took more than just to change the course of the history of transportation in Srilanka .Through conventions like the Paris Agreement, an environmentally friendly sustainable transportation policy by reducing environmental pollution and air emissions to make the world a more suitable place for humans to live.
In order to create a more suitable environment for the living of mankind, a large number of researches, experiments and commitments have been made to upgrade all means of transport including public transport through environmentally friendly and electronic methods. As a result, railway services in many countries, including neighboring India, have been completely converted to electricity.In Korea and America, the use of electric vehicles is increasing rapidly.
