The Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI) has shown a notable increase in the year-on-year inflation rate, rising to 1.7% in June 2024 from 0.9% in May 2024, according to data released by the Department of Census and Statistics.
Food inflation also saw a significant uptick, reaching 1.4% in June 2024, up from 0.0% in May 2024. Meanwhile, non-food inflation rose to 1.8% in June 2024, compared to 1.3% recorded the previous month.
