One sluice gate of the upper Kothmale reservoir has been opened since the today morning due to the heavy rain that continues to fall intermittently in the upper Kothmale catchment areas.
The Nuwara Eliya DMC spokesman requests the people to be careful as the rest of the flood gates of the reservoir will open automatically
if there is further heavy rain in the catchment areas, Residents on both sides of the Kotmala Oye below the reservoir dam and the people using the water in the Oya asked to be vigilant.
