During the inauguration of a smart classroom at Bharathipuram Maha Vidyalayam, Kilinochchi, as part of the 'Sakwala' program, Sajith Premadasa, the leader of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), assured the public that, upon assuming power, he would implement the 13th Amendment to the Constitution. Premadasa emphasized the importance of unity, urging citizens to come together "as children of one mother" irrespective of their religious or racial backgrounds to aid in the country's reconstruction.

Premadasa criticized other political leaders for their reluctance to address the 13th Amendment, labeling them as "political opportunists."

He reaffirmed his commitment to transparency, stating that he would implement the amendment as a "straight talker." This declaration comes as part of his broader vision for a unified and progressive Sri Lanka.
