A total of 35 trains were canceled due to the ongoing strike by the Sri Lanka Railways Locomotive Operating Engineers’ Union this morning.
The strike, which began at midnight on June 6th, is now in its third day.
Despite the cancellations, 41 trains were still able to operate this morning.
The strike is based on several demands including issues pertaining to the promotions of locomotive drivers, and delays in recruitment.
