A 17-year-old student has been arrested for fatally assaulting a 15-year-old student in Sippikulama, Hambantota. The victim, a grade 10 student from Hambantota, succumbed to injuries sustained during the attack while receiving treatment at Hambantota Hospital yesterday.
Investigations revealed that the deceased student had gone to the Sippikulama area to attend a tuition class when a student from another school in Hambantota city approached the class and assaulted the victim due to a dispute.
Hambantota Police are currently conducting further inquiries into the incident.
