The Irrigation Department has issued a flood warning for the lower valley of the Attanagalu Oya basin for the next 48 hours. 

Residents in low-lying areas of Gampaha, Ja-ela, Katana, Wattala, and Minuwangoda D/S divisions, as well as motorists using adjacent roads, are advised to stay alert for sudden flooding.

Disaster management authorities have been urged to take necessary precautions as adverse weather conditions continue to worsen. 

The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) reported that the death toll has risen to 26, with 159,991 people affected across 13 districts. Furthermore, one person has been reported missing.

The National Meteorological Centre's forecasting division predicts showers in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and North-Western Provinces, with potential thundershowers in other areas during the evening or night.
