Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera announced that a significant discussion took place with the tariff division of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) yesterday.

The focus of the meeting was to finalize the proposal for revising electricity consumer tariffs.

In a statement posted on 'X' (formerly Twitter), Minister Wijesekera highlighted that the Government had decided last year to adopt a cost-reflective tariff mechanism, which includes revising tariffs on a quarterly basis.

The Minister confirmed that the latest tariff proposal for July will be submitted to the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) within the week.
