Dr. Thilak Rajapakshe, the Ampara District Member of Parliament from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), has switched allegiance to the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB).
Dr. Rajapakshe, a seasoned physician and former member of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps, is also associated with 'Viyathmaga', a prominent intellectual movement in Sri Lanka.
His defection to the SJB marks a notable shift in the political landscape, as the SJB continues to attract key figures from rival parties.
