The Ministry of Power & Energy has announced a temporary disconnection of power supply in several districts, including Galle, Kalutara, Ratnapura, Colombo, and Kegalle.
According to the Ministry's Secretary, the decision was made as a precautionary measure to ensure public safety and protect the integrity of the power infrastructure.
Residents in the affected areas are urged to remain calm and adhere to any further instructions provided by local authorities.
