The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) today issued early warnings for landslides in Colombo, Hambantota, Kalutara, Kandy Matara, Nuwara Eliya, Galle, Ratnapura and Kegalle districts.
Those in these areas are to be watchful for sudden appearance of water sprouts, cracks on walls and on the soil as these may be signs of impending landslides.
According to the Department of Meteorology, heavy showers about 100mm are likely at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.
