Renowned Sri Lankan author Ramya Jirasinghe's "Father Cabraal's Recipe for Love Cake" won the coveted Gratiaen Prize at the 31st Gratiaen Awards ceremony held at The Stables at the Mews.

Addressing the gathering after receiving her award, Jirasinghe expressed her surprise at the win. "This year had one of the strongest shortlists for the Gratiaen Prize. There were two previous winners and accomplished writers among the finalists. I thank the judges for the recognition they have given me," she said.

The Gratiaen event was held in association with the John Keells Foundation and supported by British Council Sri Lanka.
