Ruwan Jayasekara alias Midigama Ruwan, a notorious underworld figure who is said to have planned an attack on the Criminal Investigation Department head office in Colombo to free drug trafficker Nadun Chinthaka alias Harak Kata, to be brought to the country today.
Midigama Ruwan who is the brother-in-law of Nadun Chinthaka alias Harak Kata was reportedly arrested by the Dubai Police in March. Harak Kata was also arrested by the Dubai Police last year and deported to Sri Lanka.
The Dubai police arrested Midigama Ruwan following a clash in a night club in Dubai. It was reported that Ruwan's name was among the Interpol warrant list.
Police said special police team left for Dubai to bring the suspect to the country.
