Aura Lanka Chairman Viranjith Thambugala who was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) was granted bail.
On May 22, the CID arrested Thambugala over alleged financial fraud of Rs. 7 million and he was remanded till today by the Colombo Magistrate's Court.
He was produced before the Court over a complaint lodged by IWS Holdings Chairman Arthur Senanayake. According to the CID, the suspect had obtained money from the complainant promising on an agreement signed by the two parties to return it within 15 days.
He was granted bail by Colombo Additional Magistrate Pavithra Sanjeewani Pathirana.
