Sri Lanka Air Force pilots stationed in the Central African Republic under the United Nations Multidimensional Peacekeeping Mission (MINUSCA) conducted a crucial evacuation mission involving several UN members.
The SLAF said that Sri Aviation Bria in the Central African Republic was tasked with undertaking an early dawn Casualty Evacuation mission (CASEVAC) on May 20.
The Mi-17 UNO 324P was designated to carry out the challenging CASEVAC operation.
The mission, led by SLAF Pilots, carried out to evacuate three UN members who met with a vehicle accident in a remote location in the Rafai area.
