The Meteorology Department has announced that the current windy conditions are expected to continue, driven by the Southwest Monsoon.

Showers or thundershowers are forecasted for the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-western, and Southern provinces.

Certain areas in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as the Nuwara-Eliya district, may experience fairly heavy showers, with rainfall reaching up to 75 mm.

The Uva and Eastern provinces are also expected to see showers or thundershowers in the evening or night.

Meanwhile, strong winds, ranging from 50-60 kmph, are anticipated over the Western slopes of the central hills and in the Northern, North-central, Western, Southern, and North-western provinces, as well as in the Trincomalee district. Elsewhere on the island, fairly strong winds of 30-40 kmph are expected.
