Gamini Marapana, a distinguished lawyer and Senior President’s Counsel, has died at the age of 82.
Marapana was widely recognized for his involvement in numerous high-profile court cases in Sri Lanka. In addition to his legal career, he briefly served as the Chairman of the Colombo Port City Economic Commission.
He was also the brother of Tilak Marapana PC, who held the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs during the ‘Good Governance’ or ‘Yahapalana’ government.
Family sources have stated that details regarding the final rites of the esteemed attorney will be announced in due course.
