Several houses including a tourist hotel have been damaged due to the strong wind conditions in Weligama Paleana area this morning.
Six sluice gates of 4 feet each have been opened in Deduru Oya Reservoir.
It releases water at the rate of fourteen thousand cubic feet per second.
The Kurunegala Disaster Management Unit informs the people in the areas below the reservoir to be careful.
