The Hindu Federation of Sri Lanka has appealed to President Ranil Wickremesinghe to grant a Presidential Pardon to Ven. Galagodatte Gnanasara Thera.
In a letter addressed to the President, the Federation argued that some statements and actions of Ven. Gnanasara Thera have been misinterpreted or misrepresented by certain democratic bodies, influenced by various elements.
The Federation emphasized that these misrepresentations have unfairly targeted Ven. Gnanasara Thera, aiming to silence his democratic voice.
They highlighted the Thera's contributions to promoting peace among different religious communities and resolving conflicts that could undermine the country's economic, social, and spiritual stability.
