Swiss International Airlines, operated by Edelweiss, successfully wrapped up its winter operations in Sri Lanka, having transported 8,600 passengers from November 2023 to May 2024.
With the conclusion of its winter schedule today, May 17, Swiss International Airlines is set to resume flights to Colombo in the first week of November 2024.
As per Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited (AASL), Edelweiss, wholly owned by Swiss International Airlines and part of the Lufthansa Group, runs direct flights to Europe, North America, and beyond from its hub at Zurich Airport.
From November 3, 2023, to May 17, 2024, Edelweiss successfully carried over 5,500 passengers to Sri Lanka and transported more than 3,100 passengers out of the country. The airline operated weekly A340-300 flights from Zurich to Colombo during this period.
Founded in 1995 and named after the Edelweiss flower, a symbol of Switzerland known for its resilience and beauty, Edelweiss is dedicated to quality and customer satisfaction, cementing its reputation in the aviation industry.
