In response to mounting concerns regarding purported irregularities during the 2023 (2024) G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination, the decision has been made to award grace marks for several questions featured in the Science paper.
The announcement, made by Commissioner General of Examinations Amith Jayasundara, follows reports of certain questions being beyond the prescribed syllabus, triggering widespread unease among students and educators alike.
Jayasundara clarified that the provision of grace marks will specifically address the contentious questions within the Science examination paper.
This measure aims to mitigate any undue disadvantage experienced by candidates due to the inclusion of out-of-syllabus content.
