In a move aimed at bolstering its financial standing, Sri Lanka has successfully sold a total of 70 billion rupees in bonds across various terms, as revealed by data from the state debt office.
The debt office disclosed that it sold 15 billion rupees worth of bonds with a maturity date of May 1, 2028, at an average yield of 9.00 percent. Investors showed robust interest in this offering despite the prevailing market conditions.
Besides, all 25 billion rupees of bonds maturing on October 15, 2030, were sold at an average yield of 11.00 percent, reflecting confidence in Sri Lanka's long-term economic prospects.
Furthermore, the sale of 30 billion rupees worth of bonds due on October 1, 2032, was met with enthusiasm, with all offered bonds sold at an average yield of 9.00 percent.
