A foreign national sustained injuries during a base jumping event at the iconic Lotus Tower earlier today, sparking concerns about safety protocols surrounding the extreme sport.
Eyewitnesses recounted that the individual, whose nationality was later confirmed as American, encountered difficulties with his parachute deployment following his leap from the tower.
The incident unfolded when the foreigner, whose identity remains undisclosed, reportedly experienced a delay in opening his parachute after initiating the jump. As a result, he suffered injuries upon landing and was swiftly transported to the General Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Hospital sources disclosed that the injured individual is undergoing treatment for internal head injuries, alongside experiencing numbness in his legs and hand.
