Girlfriend arrested in connection with Kuliyapitiya youth murder case
A young woman has been arrested in connection with the murder of a youth in the Kuliyapitiya area, where the victim's body was found after he went missing while visiting her home.
The 18-year-old girlfriend of the deceased was arrested on charges related to aiding and abetting the crime and concealing crime.
The victim, Susita Jayawansha, was last seen at his girlfriend's residence following a phone call from her father, but investigations later revealed that he had been assaulted by the girlfriend's father and two other individuals.
Earlier, the girlfriend's parents were also arrested and remanded in connection with the murder.
