Five policemen attached to the Beliatte police have been suspended for helping an inmate in their custody to smoke cannabis.
A senior police officer said that the services of three sergeants and two constables had been suspended in this connection.
Subsequent investigation revealed the suspect had two more reefers and a lighter in his possession.
The suspect had been taken into custody with 50 grammes of ganja in his possession.The Beliatte police are conducting further investigations.
