The Secretary to the Ministry of Public Security, in conjunction with the Controller General of the Department of Immigration and Emigration, has been called to appear before the Committee on Public Finance (CoPF) tomorrow.

CoPF Chairman Dr. Harsha De Silva announced the summons today, citing the need for a thorough investigation into the unfolding visa controversy.

Despite standard protocol dictating that all matters related to public finance be routed through the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE), the visa issue was not referred to the CoPF.
