Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa has been unanimously selected as the new National Organiser of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP).

This decision comes following a pivotal executive committee meeting held on Wednesday at the official residence of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Wijerama Road in Colombo.

The appointment marks a notable transition within the SLPP, with Namal Rajapaksa assuming the role previously held by former Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa. State Minister D.V. Chanaka announced the decision to the media, underscoring the unanimous support for Namal Rajapaksa's new leadership role within the party.

Namal Rajapaksa's elevation to the position of National Organiser signifies a strategic move within the SLPP, aligning with the party's vision and objectives under the guidance of its leadership.
