President Ranil Wickremesinghe inaugurated the German-Sri Lanka Friendship New Women’s Hospital in Karapitiya, Galle this morning.
With total of 640 beds, 6 operating theatres, emergency units, intensive care, paediatric units and modern facilities, it marks a significant advancement in SL’s healthcare,
It is understood that this facility is the largest maternity hospital not only in Sri Lanka but also in South Asia.
The Galle Karapitiya Maternity Hospital built at a cost of Rs. 3,570 million The loan to construct the hospital has been provided by the German government. In addition to that, medical equipment has also been provided.
