The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has reportedly forwarded the full statement given by former President Maithripala Sirisena regarding his comments on the Easter Sunday attacks to the Attorney General yesterday.
In response to the AG's directive, the CID submitted the extensive statement, which lasted over 6 hours, from the ex-President.
The CID has recorded the statement from former President Sirisena yesterday, following Public Security Minister Tiran Alles's instruction to the IGP to investigate the former President's recent remarks in Kandy, where he claimed to have prior knowledge of the individuals involved in the Easter Sunday attacks on April 21, 2019.
