Saharan's brother-in-law was arrested by Kaththankudi police during a raid in Batticloa's Kalapalachenai area.
Acting on a tip-off about an unauthorized gathering, Police conducted the operation.
Police said around 30 individuals, including Saharan's brother-in-law, were detained during the raid.
Despite denying any involvement in illicit activities and claiming to be merely playing cards, the police said further investigations will be conducted.
