A Sri Lankan man, who attempted to harass foreign tourists in Ella, has been arrested and remanded.
Video footage of the incident recorded by American tourists shows the man verbally abusing them and attempting to throw stones at them.
The altercation occurred when the tourists walking along the railway line in Ella, declined the local man’s offer to provide directions.
The man, a resident of Kidelella has been remanded until March 4, 2024, after appearing before the Bandarawela Magistrate’s Court.
