A tragic incident unfolded near the Kotawila Court complex as a police sergeant took his own life with his service firearm.
Police said that the 52-year-old sergeant, stationed at the Kotawila Police Station, had recently resumed duty after a prolonged absence due to illness.
Today, he tragically ended his life within the premises of the Kotawila Court Complex police post.
