The Beruwala police have initiated investigations based on a complaint received today regarding a fisherman who went missing at sea. The missing fisherman has been identified as Rasika Dilan, a resident of Balapitiya.
Reportedly, Rasika Dilan fell overboard while on a multi-day fishing vessel named 'Harini Duva 2', which departed from Beruwala fishing harbor on Sunday around 7.55 pm.
The operator of the fishing vessel promptly notified the owner and relatives about the incident, following which a complaint was lodged with the Beruwala police.
Despite efforts by the remaining five fishermen, including the boat operator, who continued their search in the deep sea for several days, Rasika Dilan could not be located.
