Malalage Sudath Kithsiri, known as 'Weliwita Sudda,' suspected of orchestrating drug trafficking, was arrested by the Kaduwela police. Upon arrest, he was found in possession of 15.300 grams of heroin.
The police said that the suspect had been evading capture for an extended period.
Presented before Kaduwela Magistrate Chanima Wijebandara, the suspect was remanded until March 06.
He is suspected as the actual owner of the fleet of vehicles, including five luxury buses, a motorcar and a motorcycle seized by the Illegal Assets Investigation Unit of the CID when the registered owner had failed to explain the source of income for the purchase of the vehicles.
