A shooting near an apartment complex in front of Borella Magazine Prison last night left one person injured, police said. The victim was rushed to the National Hospital, Colombo for treatment.
It was reported that the assailant riding a motorcycle carried out the shooting in front of the luxury apartment complex situated on Ananda Rajakaruna Mawatha, Borella.
The injured individual has been identified as having ties to drug trafficking and had recently been released on bail from remand prison.
Police are yet to identify the the suspects and the Borella Police to initiate further investigations.
