In the wake of  a discussion today (19) between Minister of Health Dr. Ramesh Pathirana, and the Alliance of Health Professional Unions, a new committee has been appointed to address the pressing concerns raised by the health professionals.

During the deliberation held at the Ministry of Health, representatives of the Health Trade Union Alliance articulated their professional demands, emphasizing the need for prompt attention and resolution. 

In response, Minister Pathirana acknowledged the significance of their concerns and emphasized the importance of submitting a comprehensive proposal to the Ministry of Health. He assured the delegation that the Ministry would meticulously study the proposal with the aim of achieving maximum fairness for all stakeholders involved.

The union have been demanding a similar increased allowance to the Disturbance, Availability and Transport (DAT) allowance which as given to the doctors.
