Next week, Sri Lanka is set to receive valuable insights from the Chairman of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC), Lord Marland, as part of his visit to the country from February 19 to 21, 2024.
This visit presents an opportunity for both the private sector and government to explore avenues for business expansion across the 56 Member States of the Commonwealth.
During his stay, Lord Marland will engage in crucial meetings, starting with a session with President Ranil Wickremesinghe, aimed at discussing trade and investment prospects. On February 19, he will join Investment Promotion State Minister Dilum Amunugama for further discussions, followed by an evening reception hosted by CWEIC Strategic Partner, Port City Colombo, where he will engage with prominent government and business figures.
On February 20, Lord Marland's itinerary includes a meeting with British High Commissioner Andrew Patrick to foster bilateral trade relations. Additionally, he will connect with current CWEIC Strategic Partners, including Capital Maharaja Group Group Director Niro Cooke, to enhance collaboration and explore new opportunities within the Commonwealth.
Furthermore, Lord Marland will also engage with prospective Strategic Partners interested in joining the CWEIC, offering them insights and support to expand their businesses across Commonwealth states. As a commercial, not-for-profit membership organization endorsed by the Commonwealth Heads of Government, CWEIC is committed to facilitating trade and investment across its diverse member nations.
