Dehydration and skin diseases on the rise among children

Dr. Deepal Perera, Pediatrician of Lady Ridgeway Hospital, Colombo said due to the high temperature dehydration conditions and skin diseases have increased among children.

He said that the symptoms caused by high temperature are headache, chills, body aches, loss of appetite, insomnia, etc., and children as well as adults can get dehydrated if they work without drinking much water during these days.

He also emphasized that if you participate in running competitions, sports competitions etc. without drinking much water, heat shock conditions may occur.

He said that it is advisable to drink more water and natural liquid foods during these days, and that skin conditions such as sweat blisters and eczema may increase.

Not drinking too much water can change the color of the urine these days, if the color of the urine is dark, it is advisable to drink more water, to reduce skin diseases, it is advisable to put more children in water, i.e. allow children to play in the water for about 20 minutes in the morning and evening. He also emphasized to give.

Pediatrician Dr. Deepal Perera said that due to the increase in dust and the environmental pollution reported in the countries in the past, the polluted air came to Sri Lanka with the wind.

The expert doctor said to provide proper treatment to the children who are suffering from childhood epilepsy and also said to give more natural liquid food to the children.

The doctor also asked that one person in every house should plant at least one tree as this hot condition may continue for another 02 months
