Seven individuals wanted in connection with providing packets of poisoned milk to the suspects in custody of Woulfendal Street Police for a murder in Jinthupitiya in Colombo, were arrested by a team of officers from Wolfendhal police during a raid on a house in Grade Valley estate in Delthota in Galaha.
Those arrested included five men and two women.
Police said they identified the main suspect from CCTV recordings when he bought packets of milk from a boutique and mixed cyanide
Two suspect in the custody in connection with the murder had taken seriously ill when they drank poisoned milk.
A senior police official said the suspects involved in the murder and the individuals who provided them poisoned milk were members of one gang. He said poisoning the murder suspects in police custody had been planned by an underworld gangster hiding in a foreign country.
