A woman was injured when two armed men who broke into the Megoda Economic Center shot her and robbed a shop and fled early this morning.
Police said the woman, who was the cashier in the shop at that time, was hit by three bullets in her abdomen and was admitted to the Homagama Hospital.
A CCTV camera installed in the shop recorded the robbers looting the cash from the drawer.
The robbers stole the money from the top drawer of the store and shot the woman in question after asking for the key to get the money from the bottom drawer.
The two shooters who committed the robbery fled on a mortorcycle.
