Two individuals, including a monk, have been arrested with two Blue Sapphire gemstones when they attempted to sell those gems for Rs. 370 million.
The arrest was made in a raid conducted by the Koslanda Police based on information provided by the Army Intelligence Division.
It has been revealed that the arrested monk resides in the Weliweriya area, and the other arrested suspect, aged 72, is the father of a local politician from a well-known political party.
The arrested gemstones are in the shape of a pagoda, and it is suspected that the gemstones were obtained by destroying treasures
