The tense standoff between healthcare unions and government officials escalates as the possibility of a resumed strike looms large.
After a nationwide protest initiated by 72 health sector trade unions on February 1st disrupted healthcare services across the country, the fate of the Disturbance, Availability, and Transport (DAT) allowance remains unresolved.
In a bid to find a solution, a crucial meeting has been scheduled for today at the Finance Ministry under the directive of the President.
Ravi Kumudesh, President of the Joint Council for Professions of Supplementary Medicine, stressed the importance of this meeting, stating that the grievances of the unions would be brought to the forefront.
However, Kumudesh warned that if a satisfactory resolution is not achieved during the meeting, the unions will not hesitate to resume their suspended strike starting from tomorrow.
